Atlantis Paradise Island is an oceanthemed resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It features a variety of accommodations built around Aquaventure, a 154-acre waterscape, which includes fresh and saltwater lagoons, pools, marine habitats, and water slides and river rides.
Atlantis Marinais designed to dock large yachts. The eastern side features the Marina Village, a small shopping center reminiscent of market-style tourist centers. Here you can find numerous restaurants and stores, such as Ben and Jerry's, Carmines and Starbucks. The Harborside Resort at Atlantis is located on the south side of the marina.
Allan’s Cay, in the north of Exuma archipelago, is home to a rare species of Bahamian rock iguana. Iguanas used to be hunted for food and captured for sale in the pet trade, which at one point put the species on the brink of extinction.
Currently, with a population of one thousand animals, they are protected by law. When iguanas see a yacht approaching the island, they leave the bushes waiting for the handouts of fruits, veggies and bread that visitors bring.
Shroud Cay, a mega-yachts favourite stopover, is an uninhabited chain of islands and rocks encircling a shallow mangrove salt lake, locally known as salina. There are streams that you can ride down to the open water. The salina is home to lobsters, sea turtles, various fish and sea birds.
Shroud Cay is a part of Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. It lies to the south of Norman’s Cay, a couple of miles away; Warderick Wells Cay is further off in the south-eastern direction.
With heavenly beaches, some of the bluest waters in the world, and vibrant aquatic life, Staniel Cay is an island you wouldn’t want to miss during your luxury yacht adventure.
One of Staniel Cay’s drawcards is the Thunderball grotto, a spectacular underwater cave in the area where the eponymous 1965 James Bond movie was
filmed. The best time to snorkel in the grotto is when the tide is low.
Big Majors, with their world-famous swimming pigs, is minutes away from Staniel Cay. The pigs have no natural enemies in this blessed location, Big Majors are uninhabited, so the pigs grew to love swimming and frolicking in the sea next to island’s guests who bring them treats.
Warderick Wells Cay is a protected area in the centre of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Here you’ll find several natural pathways that make the cay ideal for hiking. With any luck, you’ll see hutias, a rare species of rodents, reminiscent of oversized guinea pigs; they grow to be as big as a cat. On the east coast of the cay there are ruins dating back to 1789.
Despite its marvellous beaches, top world snorkelling and diving spots and scenic beauty, Norman’s Cay has a somewhat unsavoury reputation. It dates back to the late 1970-ies – early 1980-ies, when Carlos Lehder, a drug lord of German-Columbian origin, used the cay as a base for his drug smuggling operations and wild parties.
Today this small – a few hundred acres – island is an idyllic off-the-beaten-track yachting, wreck and lobster diving destination, quiet and secluded.
A smallish Rose Island is to the east of Paradise Island, about three miles away. Once a pineapple plantation, now it is a
protected area with no roads or formal residential infrastructure. You’ll be impressed with crystal clear water, breathtaking beauty of the nature, powder white sand, coconut trees swaying in the wind and lush vegetation.
The island has a thin sandy peninsula which juts out 7 miles east.
Conveniently located in the southwest of the island of New Providence, Bahamas, close to Nassau international airport, Albany Marina can accommodate up to 71 luxury yachts as large as 300 feet (91 meters) in length. The level of service provided here is up to the highest standards. Visitors are welcome to make use of a golf course, a swimming pool, a boxing ring, shops, restaurants, office facilities, luxurious accommodation, spa and fitness centres.
