Born in South Siberia, Sofia Orliskaja Kapnias is something of world-citizen having lived (to date) in Saint Petersburg, Belorussia, Novosibirsk, Budapest, Brussels, Moscow, Athens, South of France and the UK.

Her illustrious academic career, an honours trailblazer in Economics, Economic Cybernetics and Political Science, chosen amongst the select few to study in the top three universities in Russia and Budapest gave her an early taste for doing things differently and challenging the status quo.

In fact it was in Vienna while studying in Budapest that Sofia fell passionately in love and eventually married Stavros, with whom she now has two beautiful and amazingly gifted daughters, a company and the very cute punk Yorkshire and affectionate family pet called Rina.

A rich variety of different professional and consulting roles continued to feed Sofia’s entrepreneurial spirit. In truth it was when she entered the yachting business in 2005 to get closer to her passion for the high-seas that she really found her true calling.

As a director of Abberley Luxury Yachts, co-founded with a best friend and husband, Sofia has turned her ardor for travelling the world’s oceans in luxury yachts into a very successful global superyacht business attracting an enviable clientele.

With a well-developed taste for only the most select luxury and an eye for hidden gems and refined exclusivity, Sofia’s greatest sense of reward comes from creating unique, tailor-made, one-off, pampered luxury yachting adventures where the only limit is the imagination — be it for friends, family or favoured clientele.
